Golf activities for wounded veterans in Scotland – Golf is the ‘hook’ and is one of a few sports that can be played on a level playing field regardless of injury, illness or issue

A programme of 20 confidence building golf activities delivered throughout Scotland. This includes a mix of the following activities:

Introductory Golf Event (IGE): A one/two day event which acts as a ‘taster’ to golf and introduces the opportunities available through involvement with OCF. Delivered for Service personnel on Recovery Duty (PRDs) from nationwide Recovery Centres.

Golf Skills and Employment Course (GSEC): Our core residential course where beneficiaries receive in-depth golf tuition in a relaxed comfortable environment, sharing the experience with like-minded individuals and learning skills both on and off the course. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss career opportunities with our Head of Events and Employment.

Golf Skills Days (GSD): An extension of the GSEC, focused on developing a particular area of the game, e.g. chipping and putting – providing attendees with tuition drills that they can practice in their own time outside of the events programme.

Service Match (SM): Fun, competitive matches against the tri-service Golf Associations – allowing beneficiaries the chance to network and spread awareness of OCF in the military and golf community.

Employment Insight Day (EID): These days are set-up as a ‘day in the life of’ and are delivered in various sectors of the golf industry. They are split up into classroom based and practical sessions, with speakers providing information on the types of roles available, career pathway, education and training required.
