Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh – Cultivate and Connect
(This event repeats on multiple set dates.)
Meeting place - John Hope Gateway, West Gate, Arboretum Place
Provided by: Defence Gardens Scheme
Defence Gardens Scheme workshops offer supportive, nature‑based activities designed for veterans, service leavers, and their families. Our sessions provide a calm, structured space to build confidence, wellbeing, and social connection through hands‑on horticulture and outdoor creativity. We focus on those experiencing transition pressures, isolation, or mental health challenges, offering gentle, accessible activities that can be adapted for all abilities. The aim is simple: to help people feel better, reconnect with others, and rediscover purpose through meaningful time in nature. And there’s absolutely no need for green fingers—our workshops are relaxed, enjoyable, and built around fun, curiosity, and shared experience.
The delivery team will be led by Sallie Sillars and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh staff, for further information please contact Sallie on sal@defencegardens.org
Where possible, please arrive ready to start at 1030hrs.
This first workshop is a gentle Seasonal nature connection walk.
